Mojo Monday #467

Mojo 467 photo Mojo467pic.jpg

I love making square cards so I was thrilled to have this wonderful, square card sketch to work with this week :)

It was my daughter's 18th birthday last week so I once again used the sketch to create a birthday card.  As with last week's sketch, the large focal panel was perfect to use for numbers and I accented it with a butterfly, some bling and a secondary sentiment tag.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

I am having a hard time wrapping my mommy heart around the fact she is 18!!  How did she grow up so quickly, and how did I get to be 18 years older so quickly LOL!   She is such a precious girl, who I love with all my heart and count myself blessed beyond measure to be her mom.   It's a joy watching her mature and come into her own as she develops in to a beautiful woman inside and out.  Love you sweetheart!!

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing your creations with this week's sketch in the gallery.

Mojo Monday #466

 photo Mojo466pic.jpg

Happy Monday!  At least that is my take on Monday's as there is always a great sketch to work with :)

Needed a 50th birthday card this past weekend for my SIL's birthday and that big panel was perfect for showcasing a big "5 - 0" wink, wink :)   I wanted to girly it up a bit for her so used one of my favorite colour combos of pink and green, added some butterflies (any excuse will do LOL), and punched the corners to soften the edges up a bit.  Chose a soft grey for the numbers (didn't want them to be too bold - ha!) and embossed them for a little texture and dimension.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Have a fabulous week and I look forward to seeing what you create using this week's sketch!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge ~ Fall Floral

Doing a happy dance today!!!  I wonderful double whammy for me as I love flowers and these gorgeous fall colours...happy sigh....  To say I was in seventh heaven making this card is an understatement LOL.

CC Sept 13, 2016 photo CCSept13pic.jpg

I do not own any Altenew stamps so I pulled out some other flower stamps and dies and went to work.  I used a grey background as per the photo, and pulled the rest of the colours from the flower bouquet.  A row of hearts had to be added as I love hearts two - my Autumn "three musketeers" LOL!

FALL FLORAL

Have fun with the challenge and I look forward to seeing your creations in the Curtain Call gallery.

Mojo Monday #465

Mojo 465 photo Mojo465pic.jpg

Well, I survived the first week of kids going back high school and university as well as heading back to work after ten days off....barely LOL!!!

My daughter was stressed out with all the activities of "O" Week (orientation week) on campus (insert:  introvert overload) and when I got to work, our server had crashed while we were on vacation so we didn't have access to any of our hard drive information AND the first day back, we had to run without our booking schedule until mid-afternoon!!   That meant we had no clue who was coming in and at what time, couldn't confirm, cancel or change appointments.  Computers are great when they function, but when they go down....oh my!!!  Fingers crossed they will have repaired everything over the weekend before we head in this morning!

But I digress....back to the sketch!  I needed a masculine card and this sketch fit the bill as I used brads on the skewed panel and a star in lieu of the circle element along with this fabulous Jeremiah 17:7 verse from the new Scripture Medley 4 set.   New photo location for you too as I was home late and had to use our front door area for decent lighting!

The changing colors of autumn is always such a treat.  Like a paintbrush came and colored the world. One of my favorite trees around the neighborhood turns a brilliant purple in the fall, and is so beautiful against the blue sky.  So while some may find this a wintry inspiration, to me a bit of regal purple and a touch of sky and earth will always be fall.   Follow the color pattern, or take your inspiration from the graphic, either way it's sure to be lovely!  We can't wait to see what you create!

Click here to link up your challenge entries
Challenge deadline: Wednesday, October 5.
Prize: $30 gift voucher to the Verve online store!

If you have come here from our newest Laurie's blog you are right on track.  If not, you can go to the Verve blog for the hop list to get caught up.

I chose to use the colours from the inspiration photo on my card and immediately though of using these wonderful pot images from Potter's Clay and the coordinating Pottery die set, not to mention this fabulous sentiment!  I was humming the song that goes with it all day after making this card :)

The weather has changed, school starts this week and though I am not ready to say goodbye to summer just yet, September has me thinking Fall which means I get to work with my favorite colours and go to fall embellishment - leaves!

I had originally thought of  making a coffee card as the cooler weather has me wanting to drink warm beverages again, but things took a turn along the way.  I had the Coffee Helps set out and was ready to get my latte cups ready to go, but the leaves caught my eye and with a small focal panel, I used this wonderful sentiment and embellished it with leaves.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

I had a very productive week off with lots of purging being done, a basement that is under control once again, and a much more relaxed mind after being able to cross that off my To Do list after it being on it for a year!!   Ready to face the blitz to Christmas full on now LOL!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge ~ Candy Apple

It's that time of year for us again - teachers have set up their classrooms and the kids head back to school right after Labour Day.  So much for our lazy summer schedules LOL!

CC Sept 1, 2016 photo CCSept1pic_1.jpg

This is such a fun colour combination, and I was thrilled to be able to use polka dots on my card as I adore them.  Can't wear them wroth a darn, so use them on my cards LOL!   I cased Wanda's wonderful layout from this card as it was the perfect fit for this inspiration photo.   Thanks Wanda!  Love your work!
